Hex Yang

Hex Yang is a Chicago based DP. She was born and raised in China; moved to the U.S. when she was 17. In 2014, she enrolled in Columbia College Chicago, studying cinematography, and later graduated with Film and Television BA degree in 2018.

Hex was trained on 16mm, 35mm, and digital formats in the college, furthermore she shot multiple projects in all formats. 

​

She started working on professional sets since 2015. Many movies she has DPed were selected in film festivals and won awards. Some of them were nominated for Best Cinematography Award.
